Making Magic

Anyone else dreaming of a Disney Vacation? Knowing that my next one is not coming until winter this year makes me a little sad, but also excited for some people I know who will be traveling to the Magic Kingdom really soon. I made these two cards for my husband to send to some clients.
I started with the DCWV Midnight Chic stack that I totally love working with and the great Cuttlebug embossing folder, Charles.
Next I went totally simple and cut out some huge Mickey ears from the Mickey Font cartridge. I love that when you add Glossy Accents they really shine.
The final touch was this cute stamp from K. Andrews, Of Mice and Lil Men set. Such great phrases for your Disney needs.   For the inside I created a little side section repeating the outside deisgn nd left some space to write as well.
If you are looking for someone to help you plan you next Disney Vacation at NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU please think about contacting my husband, Erik, and Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. You can find out more about his services check out his Facebook Page Erik at Destination Orlando, Etc.

No Cricut Thursday: stamps & tape fun

Happy Thursday everyone. For my first post of summer I wanted to share this simple card I made while playing with some new washi tape and the Pink By Design, My Type stamp set.
I bought this fun set of decorative tapes at Michael's and thought it would be fun to just spread them around a card.
After I got the tapes on I layered the white piece onto a black card base with a plain white inside for a note. Then I selected the words I wanted to use ad placed them on the card ready to stamp them.  The little heart came from the Pocketful set.
Once it was all done I liked the result and actually made one more just like it to send to another friend. Hope you are having a great day

Bring on the Summer

Today is my last official day at work for the school year. I am super excited to be done with the year and ready for a fun and relaxing summer.
Of course for me that means crafting, running my daughter to her dance classes and theater camps, crafting, visiting with friends, crafting, giving a wedding shower, crating, and oh did I mention crafting?  I truly love the summer time I get to create in my wonderful crafting space.

I have been organizing my space for the summer projects I have planned.  I got this great display unit form the store my hubby works at. It holds 3 the Dazzle Caddy Stickles Organizers (Scrapbook.com) just perfect. I now own every color of the original Stickles and I plan on using them this summer.
I am ready to jump in tomorrow and meet all the summer goals I have for myself and my crafting time.  I hope you will stop in for a visit during your summer time as well.  I truly enjoy the comments people leave me.
SUMMER CRAFTING GOALS:
- Post to my blog everyday over the summer.
- Visit at least 10 other blogs each day
(I will double up if I will be gone on a certain day)
- Finish the 50 States Album I started for my parents.
- Use Pinterest weekly as inspiration.

What are your summer crafting goals?  Or other summer goals for that matter??

Home is Where the Heart is

Are you ready for a new Die Cuttin Divas challenge?  This week we are making Shape Cards. I selected this adorable house from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Home Sweet Home collection.  I Silhouette Design Studio to mirror the base image and weld it together minus the chimney.
Then I cut all the layers in the file and put my house together. Before I added the roof I used a embossing folder from The Paper Studio (mesh texture).  Then I added a simple pearl for the door knob.
On the inside I cut an additional house base and added a circle and heart to get my message across. I hope you will join us at Die Cuttin Divas this week.Make sure to stop over and see what the Design team has created.

Happy Monday everyone. I hope you are all having an enjoyable day. The weekend was wonderful (I even turned 35 gracefully yesterday!) and now only 2 more days until I am free for the summer.  I am ready to enjoy and play. Speaking of Play it is time for a new challenge at Paper Playtime.

Chef Party Recap

My daughter turned 7 on May 11th and to celebrate we had a fun chef party at Sophie's Kitchen.
They were greeted at the door by the Head Chef, Sophie, who presented them with an apron and chef's hat. She was also wearing a t-shirt I made for her using the Print and Cut feature on the Cameo and some great iron on material. Next, we made out own pizzas. While the pizzas were cooking we had some photo booth fun with these props I made.
After eating our pizzas we decorated cupcakes to take home. I bought fun storage boxes for each one and we put them into these bags I made to match the aprons.
Of course no birthday party is complete without a cake to eat as well. This was was a cupcake cake in the shape of chef hat. After all the eating a dance party broke out. I think everyone had a great time, but were just a little tired in the end.

DETAILS:
- Photo booth props were cut using Billionaire and some Silhouette Files.
- Different fonts are: Julian, Wish You Were Here, Aharoni, Bodoni MT Black, and Jandy Curly Girl
- I  used both Paper Doll carts and Cafe Rojo font to make the Sophie's Kitchen Sign
- The Paper Doll was cut about 12 inches.
- Invites for party are HERE

Sweet Treat with Cricut FANatics

What a day, what a day. Today I have two posts to share with you.  This second one is my project for Cricut FANatics. I created a fun cupcake wobble card for a good friend.
I just love this cut form Simply Charmed and I love the way the card looks with the fun swirls and tiny gems. I used my Cotton Candy and Lavender colored Stickles to add some fun bling and the little gems stuck on just right.
I hope you will stop by Cricut FANatics and see more details about this project and check out the other fun projects posted there as well.

Hope you have a Sweet Day.  Don't forget to check out this week's Die Cuttin' Diva Challenge in the post below.!!

Gear Up It's Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone. It is time for another Die Cuttin Divas challenge and this week is National Bike Week so gear up for the challenge of using a bike on your project.

I selected a simple bike off the Going Places cartridge. I layered it on top of some of some red, white and blue paper and used a touch of Glossy Accents to make it shine. For the final touch I added this simple stamp from Pink By Design. I just thought it fit the summer vibe that is in the air right now.

Hope you can take part in the fun and don't forget to see what the other divas have created to inspire you.

Under the Big Top

Last night was the 8th grade graduation dance at the school I work at.  The theme was "Under the Big Top!" How fun and what a perfect chance to use my Carousel Cartridge.
I love the font on this cart and it looks so great up on the wall at school. I  cut them all at 4 inches so they would really show up. After getting the layers together I added some Silver Stickles to the diamond pattern in each letter.

I decided to add the large tent and 2 tickets from the same cart to the main hallway wall as well. It was a great place for photos and I will display some highlight photos form the night on the wall Monday.
We also buy frames for each student for the dance and take their photos as they enter. The theme of the dance is on the frame so I just did a simple row of tickets for this area and we found these great red and white polka dot balloons to add to them space. Didn't the students look amazing?  It was a great night.
Now I am off to work on the 8th grade slideshow.  This project takes me most of the year with the the photos and putting it together but in the end it is an hour of wonderful memories form the school year and hold over 1000 photos!!

Snail Mail

Who doesn't love getting a hand made card? As a paper crafter I have become so happy making cards and sending the to people.  It almost makes me laugh that I did not consider myself a card maker for the longest time. This is a card I made to send a new friend.
I started with the images cut off the Sentimentals cartridge and this great paper from the Old Wold stack by DCWV. I made a simple base with a scallop cut square and layered my snail on top.  I add a few pearls to my corners.
I kept the inside very plain with a few simple layers and lots of room for a message to my pen pal. I hope everyone is having a great week.

LOVE

Hello everyone.  Welcome to a new Tuesday and a new Die Cuttin' Divas challenge.  This week our theme is
RAINBOW COLORS!
I decided to to play a little with my Fiskars edger and make a paper rainbow. I gathered my colors and tore a strip of each before adhering them together and using some brads to put my rainbow on my card. I made another one for the inside of the card as well.
After I got the base of the card ready I selected the word "LOVE" as my message.  I found this cut on Lacy Labels and felt it fit the card well.
On the inside I just placed a simple heart for the rest of my message.  I  hope you can find time this week to play along with Die Cuttin Divas. I know at the end of the school year time is very limited, but that just means soon i will have a whole summer for playing in my craft space!!

It's a Good Day!

We all have those days when things do not go the way we want them to.  On days when things are not so great for me I tend to make cards with a happier theme.  I made this card back when I was really wishing we had some sun shine Now that it is here I am finally remembering to share it.
I started with some paper I had just bought from the DCWV Kidlet stack. I selected this fun layered sun off the Create a Critter cartridge and embossed it with some small hearts.
Add caption
I added the heart to the center and a simple ribbon. On the inside I repeated the paper and small heart and added a great sentiment stamp form the February Stamp of the Month set form Pink By Design.

I forgot to take the photo of the whole inside before I put my note in. Anyways just a simple card to share with my bloggie fiends on a Monday morning.  Often people need a little pick me up at the start of the week. Hope you start your week off just right.
